The BMW 7 Series Special Edition Rolls Out at the Brand 100th Anniversary
The BMW 7 Series Special Edition Rolls Out at the Brand 100th Anniversary. The 100th anniversary of the largest German auto manufacturer BMW’s founding falls on this year. The brand’s authorities made a decision to mark the celebration with launching the 7 Series special edition. The model got the index – the BMW 7 Series THE NEXT 100 YEARS. The name leaves no doubt that the legendary car maker celebrates its centenary year due to capitalized letters.
Just 100 lucky customers will get a possibility to purchase the automobile with the 7 Series special edition badge. It looks rather symbolic: 100 years – 100 customers. Nevertheless, these 100 autos will not be the same. The potential owners are offered engines depending on the market where the model is presented. Today the automobile is equipped with the only motor. It is 448 hp 750Li getting its juice from petrol V8 of 4.4-litre capacity. It generates power enough to provide the 7 Series 0-62mph acceleration within 4.7 seconds. It sounds like a great achievement for the auto of this weight category!
Later on, the engine range will be enriched with two other motors. The first plug-in hybrid modification will take a name of 740Le iPerformance and will be consisting of 2,0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with a turbocharger in pair with an electric motor spinning either all wheels or rear ones only. The power train total output is equal to 326 hp and its fuel consumption is just 2,1 liters per each 100 km in combined cycle. What an incredible figures! Those who prefer a bigger performance will be glad to receive an in-house (oh, take a breath before spelling the whole name) M760Li xDrive Model V12 Excellence THE NEXT 100 YEARS. We may guess that the model will be powered by a 600 hp V12 motor of 6.6-litre capacity. It shoots the car from 0-60mph in 3.7 seconds.
The manufacturer developed the design of its anniversary model with all its heart. So, this luxury limo obtained an exclusive metallic paint called “Centennial Blue” in pair with forged lightweight 20-inch alloy wheels with “Individual” badging and a bi-colored design consisting of Grey and Silver shades.
The interior turned to be luxury too. Inside the automobile is trimmed with the snow white leather with black stitches. Door pulls and panels, centre console, instrumental panel, seats, and armrests are wrapped into fine-grain, tender hides, specially selected for this auto. The material is decorated with quilted-patterned stitches. The rest details are no less luxurious: seatbelts, carpets, and headliner are covered with Alcantara suede. The perspective buyers may also sign for a new car with an individually customized pen named “Montblanc for BMW”.
Unfortunately, there is no information about the pricing for a newcomer, though it is known for sure that the auto will hit the global market this year.
