Recently BMW pleases its fans one time after another. This week is dedicated to the upcoming release of the freshest, seventh-gen BMW G30 5 Series. Casting glances at various renders and teasers, the German brand’s community can hardly wait the auto’s launch any longer.
Today the manufacturer lets the society into the secret of the new BMW G30 5 Series specifications. The engine range includes several 2-liter diesel and petrol motors equipped with four or six cylinders. Moreover, the most demanding customers’ requirements will be met due to the adding of a hybrid powertrain combining from the V8 engine and electric motor. Probably, a 4,4-litre 550i with capacity in 600 horsepower will be offered within the novelty engine range too. All motor will be paired with 9-speed auto gearbox.
The first thing that hits the eye when taking a look at the newcomer’s front are big air intakes, enormous grill in shape of twin kidney, and laser headlights. The profile reflects the design of overall brand and repeats the lines of in-house models. The auto is build up upon the CLAR platform which is modular. This “undercarriage” mounting encourage the considerable weight loss. The engineer used aluminum and carbon in every possible place.
Interior suggests big changes too. The basic package will be partially borrowed from the larger representatives of 7 Series.
The sedan sports a new version of the infotainment system with iDrive badge that allows controlling the inbuilt option by means of gestures. Be sure to see the Organic LED on this model, which was previously noticed on the noble coupe – BMW M4 GTS.
The official announcement of the model will take place in this year’s summer. Later on the German brand’s fan will have a possibility to stare at the car once again at the current Paris Motor Show. The series production will start at the end of the year. The first market that will receive the sporty sedan will be the US one. The manufactures are going to present the car in Touring, sedan, and Gran Turismo body modifications.
