Toyota RAV4 is one of the leaders in crossovers sales. But in order to be ahead of the competition, it’s still need to update the model. Toyota Company has made every effort for becoming restyled RAV4 convincing and really new.
The changes of the front and rear parts of the car make it a modern and recognizable. LED optics not only adds the attractiveness of appearance, but also shines perfectly. New bumper looks stylish. The steering wheel has new, softer leather upholstery, reminiscent the Lexus models. More gentle to the touch leather is appeared on the seats and center armrest. The door panels are now soft too. The comfortable driver’s seat is with electric drive and good visibility. USB-connector is only one, it is not enough. The new RAV4 is not inferior to younger competitors. The instrument panel is the same as in the new Prado, in the center appeared the 4.2-inches screen. On it display all the parameters of the route, the navigation, the torque distribution between axles and the center of gravity position in the dynamics and road signs, which are recognized by using the front camera. For the first time on the RAV4 appeared active cruise control with a system to prevent head-on collisions and control of driver fatigue.
There are no changes in the engine compartment. Two four-cylinder gasoline engine – 2.0 l (146 hp / 187 Nm), and 2.5 l (180 hp / 233 Nm), and 2.2 l turbodiesel (150 hp / 340 Nm), and three gear boxes – 6 -speed manual, CVT and 6-speed automatic.
It would be a mistake to suggest that the Japanese car changed only in appearance and in terms of a set of options. Transverse elements of the rear part received 30 new welding points. The new model has reinforced rear subframe. All this is possible to increase the rigidity of the body. In addition, it was processed characteristics of the suspension elements in the new generation, in order to achieve preservation of controllability active level and increase comfort. Oversized rear silent blocks were set; dampers became stiffer, springs – softer.
